The Interesting Gardening Club was launched in March 2004 to support and encourage British gardeners, and to promote an exchange of current and traditional gardening ideas. French members are very welcome as local knowledge is all important. The IGC mainly draws its members from the Dordogne and the Charente but is open to all in the region of Aquitaine. Meetings are organised throughout the year and are held at members’ homes or local salle de fetes. There are talks by local or guest speakers and time afterwards to exchange views. There is a flourishing Seed Exchange and several special interest groups. From time to time, a plant swop (a troc vert or bourse de plantes) is organised. The committee also arranges an occasional home grown Gardeners’ Question Time. There are visits to gardens of interest, arboretum and nurseries. The social aspect of the club is met through optional pot luck lunches, afternoon teas and picnics which follow on from a meeting or a visit.
The IGC welcomes all gardeners, whether you have acres, woodlands and lakes
or a simple cottage garden.
